Episode #96 – Malaysian Chocolate From Malaysia – Part I

This is the first of two episodes we recorded back in May. That being said, we’ve had a bit of a full plate of doings in recent months, but the wait is over and this and next Thursday, we have more chocolate for you to enjoy.

We visited Malaysia in 2014 and it was an absolutely amazing place. This chocolate come from a company called Maestro whose address is in Butterworth – an area we visited! We may have driven by them back then! Small world. Maestro asked about doing a collab and so here we are.

Episode #95: The Bubu Lubu Tree Of Hell

Welcome to another action-packed thing-that-we-do here. It’s pretty mind blowing how you just keep coming back for more – like lambs to the slaughter or a mouse to a cheese. But really, thank you – you’re the best fans we would never pay for. Paying for a fanbase is like buying friends, and we don’t approve of that form of desperation – even though it’s a common practice online these days. That’s kind of seedy, if you ask me. Bring on the constipation!

Episode #95: The Bubu Lubu Tree Of Hell

Bourbon Chocolatey Tree Stumps – Japan

Found this on a trip to a rarely visited Asian grocery a couple weeks ago. How bizarre. From the makers of tiny hamburgers come these Chocolatey Tree Stumps. What the hell is going on? I mean really – WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON?!

Bimbo Bubu Lubu – Mexico

A layer of chocolate with marshmallow inside and then some flavored gel kind of strawberry stuff. Kit was not pleased.

Epidode #93: The Rabbit Or The Egg?

Yes. Another Easter episode. This time, we go straight for the throat with some weighty rabbits. On the topic of the lepus, we must take a moment to chastise all of you for stealing their eggs. Chickens are one thing – but rabbit eggs? We’re very disappointed. Don’t do that.

Reese’s Peanut Butter Rabbit – USA

A large Reese amalgam – peanut butter filled with chocolate. You know the drill.

Reese’s Mallow-Top Peanut Butter Cups – USA

We were both rather unhappy with this newcomer as it really didn’t taste as advertised.

Russell Stover Caramel Bunny – USA

You can hear the whispers of the dark overlords in the fray as we try this one. Goopy.

York Peppermint Bunny – USA

Knock it off. More doesn’t always equal better.

Episode #92: Easter Under Attack

Easter’s just around the corner and so while at the store yesterday, I picked up our absolute favorites. These are also your favorite varieties because we know you. We know you all too well. How? Don’t ask. You don’t have time because you’re telling everyone you know about our fantastic content. We appreciate it – sort of.

Episode #92: Easter Under Attack

Cadbury Mini Eggs – United States

These are the holy grail of delights for Kit when it comes to Easter chocolate. The thin shell and the chocolate are tops in her opinion.

Kit – 5 out of 5 stars

Hans – 4.5 out of 5 stars

Reese’s Pieces Peanut Butter Eggs – United States

First off, I meant to grab the variety which lays bare; sans pieces. The pieces are so maintaed in the peanut butter grease that it’s kind of just a little bit of broken glass in there. Regardless, they are quite satisfying. But not for Kit who loathes peanut butter.

Episode #90: Udderly Lonely

This is the second episode we did in July of 2020 and didn’t get edited until December. Kinda late, I know. Plus, there aren’t any new ones done to edit. So this is it. Is The Chocolate Break dead? Will the phoenix rise from the ashes? Maybe. Maybe not. Enjoy. Actually – really enjoy this – the more enjoy, the better chance of more episodes.

Episode #90: Udderly Lonely

Tony’s Choco Lonely White Chocolate Raspberry – Belgium

Can’t even extoll how amazingly good this one way, despite all the weird label stuff. As it turns out, there actually is a big issue in Africa with human rights abuses when it comes to cacao harvesting. Jacked up – chocolate is supposed to make people happy. But this stuff certainly made us happy.

Hans – 5.0 stars

Pergale Milk Chocolate – Whole Hazelnut – Lithuania

Lithuanian chocolate bought at n Asian grocery. Not a big amount of wow here.

Episode 80: Broken Hershey’s.

Episode 80: Broken Hershey's.

Wait a second – did I forget to include a post from last week too? Wait… Oh okay no I didn’t. This is from a new set we did a couple weeks ago. Fortunate! If I ever forget like I did a few weeks back to not do an episode upload and leave you all in the lurch, forgive me. But who are you all? Anyone? Anyone at all?

IT IS YOUR TIME TO DO OUR DIRTY WORK. I’m activating you all. Tell people about the show. Force feed people the show. It is your duty as fans. To do anything else would sadden us, and as your corporate overlords, tis the way of things. Nowm enjoy some tasting.

Episode 76 – Hola, Hazzlegnuts

Fudgie wudgy. Reminds me of a friend who mentioned things not to say in court – Judgie-wudgy or ju-rrrr-dge would be two things not to refer to the officiator in a court case with. Man… It’s 2020. It all goes downhill from here. No! Friends and countrypeoples! Everything is awesome! All will become truly great! I hope. Let’s find out.

Hola, Hazzlegnuts

Episode 73: Mendocino Vino

She had that
Camarillo brillo
Flamin out along her head,
I mean her mendocino bean-o
By where some bugs had made it red

She ruled the toads
Of the short forest
And every newt in idaho
And every cricket who had chorused
By the bush in buffalo

She said she was
A magic mama
And she could throw a mean tarot
And carried on without a comma
That she was someone I should know

Episode 68: The Mysterious Saga pt 1

So it really is a mysterious saga – at least for this episode. Well, I dunno I figured mysterious and saga are good words to lure you into hearing a rather interesting story that will drag out over the next four episodes. So you can have anticipation and will come back. Will you come back? You know, if you don’t you will have a sense of incompleteness in your life. You really should come back next week. Come back next week.
